The Rise of DIY Dry Toner Pads: Expanding Your Beauty Product Line

A clear trend is growing in the skincare markets of South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. Alongside pre-soaked toner pads, many consumers now take a DIY approach: they buy good dry cotton pads and soak them at home with the toner or essence they already use. This gives them control over ingredients and lets them use the same liquid for both everyday toning and a quick pad mask.

For beauty brand owners and product managers, this is a real opportunity. If your brand sells toners, essences or other liquid skincare, a matching dry pad is a natural addition to your range.

The Power of Cross-Selling in Skincare

Customer acquisition costs in beauty keep rising, so increasing your average order value (AOV) through cross-selling is one of the most efficient ways to grow. When a customer adds your toner to their cart, offering a branded jar of dry pads to use with it feels like a helpful suggestion, not a hard sell.

Selling the complete DIY set, the liquid and the pad, keeps the routine inside your brand and gives customers a reason to come back for both.

Why Standard Cotton Pads Fall Short

Ordinary makeup-removal pads are not ideal for this use. A pad used as a soaked compress needs the right size and structure: many standard pads are too small, lose their shape when fully soaked, or hold on to too much liquid instead of releasing it onto the skin.

The fabric makes the difference. As explained in Why Your Cotton Pads Shed: The Truth About Spunlace vs Standard Non-Woven Tech, cross-lapped spunlace holds together better when wet and leaves less lint on the skin.

How Little Cotton Makes DIY Dry Pads

Little Cotton offers OEM manufacturing for dry toner pads, with options chosen for this use:

  • Larger sizes: Pads can be made larger than standard makeup pads, for example around 60 to 80 mm, to cover the cheeks or forehead as a mini mask. Custom shapes keep the same MOQ, with a one-time mold fee.
  • Soak-friendly spunlace: Multi-layer cotton spunlace that soaks up toner evenly and holds together when wet. Stretchable formats are also available. See OEM 3-in-1 Stretchable Dry Toner Pads.
  • Retail-ready packaging: We can source empty jars, pack the dry pads inside and apply your branding, so you receive a shelf-ready product. Printed bags and boxes are made in our own packaging workshop.

Order Terms

  • MOQ: 5,000 branded boxes, or one printed-bag run of about 30,000 bags that can cover several smaller pack orders. Jars and tubes are non-standard packaging, from 20,000 units. Each packaging design needs its own minimum.
  • Samples: Free stock samples (you pay the courier freight); custom samples in 3–7 days, with the sampling fee refunded on your bulk order.
  • Lead time: First OEM order typically 30–35 days after deposit and artwork approval; repeat orders 20–25 days.
  • Payment and shipping: 30% deposit, 70% balance before shipment (T/T). EXW by default, with CIF on request.

Little Cotton has made cotton pads since 2008 at our factories in Guangdong, China, with capacity of up to 3.6 million cotton pads a day across three cotton pad lines.
